In the countries where it is active, SWISSAID is bitterly aware of the consequences of climate change. Dysregulated seasons and violent climatic events weaken harvests and sometimes destroy entire regions, leaving people destitute. Rural areas are particularly hard hit. To strengthen the resilience of farming families, SWISSAID is working to introduce effective, sustainable solutions. In particular, it supports farmers in adopting new agroecological techniques and preserving traditional local seeds that have a positive impact on the environment. At the same time, it continues its political advocacy both in Switzerland and in the South to promote a long-term vision and a more reasoned use of raw materials.
